Description
For the 2014 release of “Come Tell Your Story” I created two main mixed media collages. This one is featured on the disc face of the physical CD release. It’s based on Isaiah 55, John 1, and Psalm 126. Isaiah 55 tells us that God’s thoughts and ways are incomprehensible to us since they are as high as the heavens above the earth. However there is hope for us to know Him and be saved, since like rain and snow he sends his Word down to nourish the earth below and accomplish his good purposes. John 1 tells of Jesus, the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. Finally, Psalm 126 says that those who go out sowing with tears will return carrying the sheaves of harvest.
In the collage, the Rain/Word falls and waters the acorns that grow into fruit trees. As we listen to the Lord’s voice, we are nourished for obedience and Jesus redeems our stories. Our failures, tears, and our joys all become part of the Story of God’s redemption.
